Du Huo Ji Sheng Wan is a very popular formula, with a good reputation earned by providing relief from chronic pain due to cold and moisture.

This is a classic formula, written for the first time about 1200 years ago. Its design not only relieve pain, but also to treat underlying deficiencies that leave the person susceptible to injury. The formula is specifically indicated for low back pain and pain in the knees and general weeakness and tension. Because of it's reinforcing and invigorating qualities, it is useful for anyone with arthritis, chronic low back pain or sciatica pain.

The name of the formula is due to two main ingredients, the du Huo (Angelica pubescens) and sang ji sheng (Loranthus parasiticus). Du Huo is specific for rheumatic pain that is sensitive to cold, especially in the lower body. It shares anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

The Sang ji sheng has two functions: to strengthen the liver and kidneys, and relieve pain of arthritis. Lowers blood pressure and is useful in heart disease. Other ingredients include the basic formula to invigorate the qi and blood, helping to restore vitality and immune function, and is particularly suitable for long-term use by elderly or debilitated patients.
